There shall be time for thinking

I was talking to a friend today and it's a bit scary but he was arguing with me that prejudice and elitism may be necessary for society to function especially when it comes down to academia. This is on the basis that only people who had been streamlined and then had entered into academia will get their academic views heard, through research paper and things, compared to anyone on the street. Sigh. I can see his point but it conflicts with the ideology I have - of equality and education for all. I do not endorse his view, in fact, it troubles me given how convicted he seemed in asserting that prejudice is right.... I suppose it's worth thinking over. As with other things...

Ah, educational talks. So many things which will be interesting to mull over if I have the time. I suppose I have to settle for quick jotted points for now:
1. Discipline being necessary in the classroom
2. Asian discipline and Western education
3. Giving students choice and empowering them in their own learning within the classroom (inclusive education)
4. Streamlining students?
5. Stereotypes of schools, and maybe class swaps to break the stereotypes down

What else will Micheal Gove talk about in Liberal learning next Thursday? Hmmm xD

But anyway, currently I have one children's lit essay, two history essays in the making (but my supervisor seems quite chilled?), one R&I which is slightly more pressing and one full draft of English dissertation which my very awesome supervisor agreed to push forward to the first week of December. And applications. To think about. Hahaha.

Tu sei una donna determinata!!! Italian my awesome English supervisor taught me :D

Anyway I played enough this weekend (fun fun fun xD) and given that it's a work hard, play hard life here, it's time to work hard xD Then, hello Copenhagen, home of Hamlet and the Little Mermaid :)
